Luis de la Fuente wowed by Barcelona star Riqui Puig potential and quality.

The Barcelona midfielder helped Spain U21 beat the Faroe Islands 2-0 last Thursday.

Luis de la Fuente has been impressed by the La Masia graduate's potential and quality.

“Riqui Puig is one of these players who surprises you with their football potential,” Spain Under-21 boss Luis de la Fuente said on Monday, as quoted by Sport.

“Riqui, like the rest of the teammates, pleasantly surprised me with how good he is. His individual quality is extraordinary.”

The Barcelona midfielder started in De la Fuente's XI in last Thursday's 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in the European U21 Championship qualifier.

Puig is now set to feature against Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
