Manchester City chief Berrada reveals they have no reason to signed any fullbacks during the transfer window

Manchester City chief Omar Berrada insists they're happy with their fullback options.

It's been claimed manager Pep Guardiola has pushed to overhaul his fullbacks this summer.

But Berrada told the Manchester Evening News: "We believe that we have a top left-back, a specialist in Benjamin Mendy who unfortunately has had two serious injuries that have impacted his career with us so far but we believe that he is going to be a very important player.

"Hopefully he will be injury-free this year and show his maximum potential. Aleks has done an extremely good job in the left-back position. It's not his natural position but whenever he has played there he has done a really good job.

We won important trophies and titles with Aleks playing left-back and not only that but with the acquisition of Ake we now have five players that can potentially play in that position: Mendy, Zinchenko, Ake, [Aymeric] Laporte who is also left-footed and can potentially play in that position, and [Joao] Cancelo did it last season a few times and in the left-back position.

"We feel we have more than enough cover there and anybody that plays there will step up and do well."
