Real Madrid rejected loan offer from Bayern Munich with higher fee for Kubo, only to see him being wasted at Villarreal

Real Madrid had around 30 loan offers from various clubs to sign Takefusa Kubo in the summer, as per AS.

They rejected a loan offer from Bayern Munich, who were willing to pay €7m in fear that he wouldn’t get much game-time.

Instead, they loaned him to Villarreal for only about €2.5m expecting that he’d at least play 40 games this season – with the club also playing in the Europa League.

But till now, Kubo has only played 54 minutes of football for the Yellow Submarine, which has left Los Blancos quite concerned.

Villarreal boss Unai Emery recently indicated that Takefusa needs to grow into bigger roles, so it remains to be seen whether the boss uses him more regularly or not.
