Reason, why Coutinho move to Arsenal, was stopped by Barcelona boss revealed

Given Coutinho's recent form, Koeman was right to keep the player.

When Ronald Koeman only took charge at Barcelona, the Catalans intended to sell Philippe Coutinho to Arsenal, Diario Sport says.

The Dutchman stopped the move as he told the club they were unlikely to find a replacement of the same quality given their bad economic situation.

Coutinho was happy to stay as he wanted to be given a second chance at Camp Nou, especially after a successful loan at Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian has had a good start of the season, managing two goals and two assists across five matches.
