Revealed: Everton was interested in Chelsea defender Rudiger but 'put off' by price

The Blues were asking for an overall cost of more than £12.5 million for a single loan campaign.

The Athletic reported that Everton was interested in signing Antonio Rudiger this past transfer window.

However, Chelsea's 'price of the package' was deemed too high.

Chelsea was reportedly telling interested parties the terms for a season-long loan included a £5 million fee plus full coverage of Rudiger’s wages, said to be worth around £150,000 per week.

This would total the cost to over £12.5 million for a single season.

Rudiger is yet to feature for the Blues this season and is effectively the club's 5th choice at the centre-back position this season.
