Andrea Pirlo admits Arthur lacks vision a bit after ex-Blaugrana's another poor showing

Juventus' boss wasn't particularly impressed with his side's display in Tuesday's win over Ferencvaros.

Pirlo even questioned Arthur's ability to split defences after the game as the €72m former Barca man continues to struggle in Turin.

“He got a bit pig-headed today keeping hold of the ball and trying to find more direct through balls when he should’ve spread it wide and tried to spread the Ferencvaros defence," Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo said of Arthur's performance in the 2-1 win over the Hungarian side on Tuesday.

"He should’ve opened up the game more to create one-on-one situations. If the ball moved too slowly, it allowed them to get back into position."

Former Juve boss Fabio Capello, who covered the encounter as a pundit for Sky Sport Italia, later asked Pirlo if the ex-Barcelona midfielder actually has the vision to split defences.

To which the 41-year-old replied: "Not much right now, but he's learning."

As a reminder, Arthur Melo's move from Camp Nou to Turin cost Juventus €72m in the summer. The 24-year-old hasn't really become a regular starter at the Allianz Stadium so far.
