Barcelona Captaina Leo Messi pays tribute to retiring Mascherano: 'We've been missing you since you left'


Messi and Mascherano have spent 8 years at Barca together and 13 at the national team.

Leo says that he and Javier went through good and bad moments together.

Barcelona and Argentina captain Leo Messi has paid tribute to Javier Mascherano who's recently announced his retirement from football.

"Masche, so many years together, seeing each other every day and sharing so much... We went through very happy moments and also some hard times on the field both in Argentina and Barcelona. We have been missing you since you left. I wish you all the best for you and your family forever!"

Messi and Mascherano have spent eight years at Barca together and 13 at the national team. Counting the appearances for club and country, the two have played 413 matches side by side, with Javier assisting two of Leo's goals.
