Barcelona defender Pique doesn't rule out running for the club presidency in 2026

Gerard Pique says that he won't run for presidency in 2021.

However, if he feels that he can help the club, he will probably do it in 5 years.

Gerard says this is a dream for him to be the Blaugrana president, although he doesn't know whether it'll come true.

"I'm sure that I won't take part in the upcoming presidential election because I'm still a player," Gerard Pique has told Radio MARCA.

"But you never know what the future holds. I'm a passionate Cule, as you know, and I would like to help the club of my love by contributing in the best possible way. If I see that I can help the club, I will decide whether to run for presidency.

"It's a dream I've always had but I don't know if it will come true," Pique concluded.

In 2026, Pique will be 39. Although he wouldn't be the youngest-ever president of Barca, this would be a rare case when a former player becomes the club's chief.

Anyway, this is something that seems very possible given Pique's experience of managing business projects. As a reminder, the 33-year-old already owns a football club and an investment group.
