Courtois denies past Barcelona links: 'It's not true, I don't know why they've been saying so'

Former Barca director Bordas has recently said that the Catalans could've signed Courtois back in the day.

The Belgian says that his dream has always been to play for Real Madrid.

"I don't think I need to comment on what people say in the newspapers or wherever. Everyone knows that my dream has always been to play for Real Madrid," Diario AS quote Thibaut Courtois commenting on the recent Barcelona rumours.

"I am happy there. If I had played at all the clubs I've been linked with, I would have played for 20-30 teams. It is not true that I had an agreement [with Barca]. I belonged to Chelsea, I went to Atletico Madrid on loan, I had to go back to Chelsea and played there. I don't know why they have been saying so but it's not true."

As a reminder, Barcelona director Jorge Bordas has recently claimed that the Catalans could've signed Courtois instead of Marc-Andre ter Stegen back in the day.

As Bordas himself said, Andoni Zubizarreta — the sporting director at that time — went for Ter Stegen and was right to do so.
