Edinson Cavani Scoring In Everton Win

Manchester United star Edinson Cavani was delighted at scoring his first goal for the club in their 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fell behind in the first half through Bernard, but bounced back in style, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a quick brace to turn things around.

Cavani then scored in the closing stages, with the veteran blasting past Jordan Pickford from close range after Fernandes set him up.

And, speaking on social media after the game, the 33-year-old reacted to getting off the mark.

“Big win in a difficult field, let’s keep working hard together and focused,” said the veteran.

For the Red Devils, they’ll now hope it’s the first of many.

Prior to the match against Everton, the Uruguay international had failed to find the net in matches against Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir, RB Leipzig and Chelsea.

But, now the former Paris Saint-Germain star is up and running for the campaign, United will be hoping he’ll go on a run.

Meanwhile, Fernandes made a revelation after the game that he’d assisted Cavani to help his team-mate gain confidence, telling BBC Sport: “The point is winning the game. I don’t need to think about a hat-trick, I need to think about the future.”
