Ex Barca director: 'Messi didn't do the right thing with the burofax'

Rexach says that, in the end, the burofax didn't benefit anyone.

However, he still supports Messi and says that he's been the solution to Barca's problems all these years.

The former technical director is certain that Leo will continue at Camp Nou.

"Thanks to God, Leo Messi's been the solution to Barcelona's problems. For me, he didn't do the right thing with the burofax, I have to say, although I'm pro-Messi all the way. That hasn't benefitted anyone. He'll stay at Barcelona," Carles Rexach, the man who brought Messi to Barca, has told Radio Marca.

As a reminder, Messi notified Barca about his intention to leave the club through a burofax back in the summer. Former president Josep Maria Bartomeu, however, refused to sell the captain despite earlier promises

As for Rexach, he discovered Leo when the Argentine was only 13 years old. Eager to secure Messi's signing, the Barca technical director signed an agreement with the player's father on a napkin.
