Ex-Chelsea player Cascarino wants Lampard to keep Giroud at the club
Tony Cascarino says he likes Giroud and that the player has Lampard's trust.
The ex-Chelsea man also called Giroud a great asset for club and country.
Cascarino added that Lampard needs the French striker at the club.
“I like Olivier Giroud and I think Frank Lampard said it, he trusts him,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“Lampard is totally happy with him. I’d love him to stay at the football club. He’s the second-highest goal-scorer for France.
"He’s been an absolutely great asset for club and country. So Frank has told him what he feels and how he needs him.”
Giroud scored a late winner against Rennes to ensure a 2-1 victory and qualification to the knockout stages for Chelsea.
Giroud has received praise from a number of pundits and former players with his recent performances for club and country.
