Jurgen Klopp speaks on Georginio Wijnaldum's future amid Barcelona links

The German coach reveals nothing is yet settled regarding the midfielder's new contract but he remains positive.

In any case, Klopp says he doesn't doubt Wijnaldum's attitude despite strong links with the Catalan club.

"I would be happy if he would stay here. I am pretty happy with Gini. You can see that when you see most of the line-ups!" Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said on Georginio Wijnaldum's future, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

On the midfielder's new contract, the German added: "There is nothing else to say about it. As long as nothing is decided, then everything is possible. I’m positive.

"That’s the truth, it’s no problem. We had situations like this with Emre Can, for example. He gave us absolutely everything until the last day of his contract. Gini will do the same, no doubt about that."

Wijnaldum will be out of contract next year. He's been heavily linked with Barcelona and Ronald Koeman has confirmed several times he would like to sign the midfielder.

The 30-year-old averages 91.5 passing accuracy rate, 0.7 tackles and 0.5 interceptions per game this season.
