Koeman reveals why he can't rest Barca midfielder De Jong too often

Frenkie de Jong didn't have a single minute of rest in the international fixtures.

Barca have few players in his position, that's why Frenkie is very important, Ronald Koeman explains.

Koeman says that he'll try to find 'the right moment' to rest him anyway.

"De Jong is an important player for me. In his position, we don't have many players, and that is why we cannot rest him too often," Ronald Koeman has told the media ahead of the Atletico Madrid game.

"Tomorrow's game is important, and we'll look for the right moment to give him rest," the Dutchman added.

Frenkie de Jong played the full 90 minutes against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Poland and is set to feature in his third game in just 6 days.

As a reminder, Sergio Busquets is injured. However, there are also Matheus Fernandes and Sergi Roberto who could theoretically play in Frenkie's position alongside Miralem Pjanic.
