Ter Stegen reveals Barcelona playing from Back makes him happy

Marc-Andre enjoys being involved in goalscoring actions.

He's delighted to see the number of goals scored from playing out from the back.

"When I look back at how many goals have been scored from playing out from the back over the past few seasons, it makes me very happy," Marc-Andre ter Stegen has told Barca TV.

"I see that I can bring solutions to the team, and that's what I want to do, helping the team by giving others the freedom to move around and make it difficult for the opponent to pressure us," the German explained.

Playing out from the back with short passes is one of the main components of the tiki-taka style. It's often used by teams playing 'gegenpress' football.

Basically, it's what Barca have been doing for quite a long time – it's very important for the team to have a goalkeeper who's great at using his feet. And Ter Stegen is exactly the one.
