Barcelona Fan names one huge reason why Messi was right to hand in transfer request

The 33-year-old has never let Barca down unlike the club's top brass, says Twitter user @Farah Hukamdad.

"He carried the team, the institution, the expectations of the fans on his shoulders season after season to success singlehandedly," Twitter user @Farah Hukamdad wrote in response to a post suggesting that Leo Messi let down Barcelona when he handed in a transfer request this summer.

"That’s taking responsibility, that’s ownership. Until he was left depleted, no support, no end in sight. He didn’t leave Barca, Barca left him."

Only time will tell whether the Argentine made the right decision by voicing his desire to leave but Leo had every right to do so, considering all the mess of Josep Maria Bartomeu's presidency.
