Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is delighted with youngster Thierry Small.

The left-back is only 16 years old, and was called up to the senior squad due to injuries.

He was part of a session with the first team last week, and will again train with the seniors this week.

Small, who has been scouted by Arsenal and Bayern Munich, plays for the club's under-23 side.

"Yes, Thierry did well," Ancelotti told reporters about Small training with the first team.

"He is really, really young. He is like a kid as he is 16-years-old.

"He has quality, physicality to play with the first-team.

"He is one of our best players in the Academy so I was pleased to bring him to train with us.

"I think for what he is doing it was good for him, also."
