Gary Neville: Lampard deserves credit for not conceding against Spurs

In the aftermath of Arsenal's 2-0 loss, Neville praised Lampard for not falling into Tottenham's trap.

The pundit explained that Arsenal over-extended against Spurs, leading to them conceding multiple times.

Neville added that Chelsea could have won the game thanks to their set-up and chances in the second half.

“What you can start to do is give Frank Lampard a little bit of credit for what he did last week for not falling," Neville told Sky Sports.

"I know what you’re saying, Jamie [Redknapp], but they [Arsenal] did over commit in those two moments. They’ve been beaten in the way they were always going to be beaten.

"Chelsea last week didn’t fall for it and in the end, they had a couple of chances.”

Arsenal lost 2-0 to Spurs on Sunday and their lack of caution against Tottenham's counter-attacking abilities cost them both goals.

Lampard ensured that Chelsea wouldn't concede from those situations and could have come out of the game with a win if not for some poor finishing from Tammy Abraham.
