Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed the performance of Rhys Williams after their victory over Tottenham.

Klopp made sure to shower his youngsters in praise after Williams and Curtis Jones stole the headlines in a top-of-the-table showdown with Tottenham.

He said: "Oh my God! Outstanding. Rhys Williams. It's nowadays playing against the Alan Shearer with Harry Kane. They avoid Rhys and put Fabinho for the long balls.

"Rhys was so strong in the air. He played a pass for our first goal and has the right amount of confidence so you don't have to explain how it works."

Turning his attention to Jones, who scooped man of the match for his efforts, Klopp appeared lost for words as his broad smile instead dominated the screen.

Reacting as though such a high level of performance was a given from such a talented youngster, Klopp said: "It's Curtis. He's already here thankfully for years. A top class player."
