Manchester United owners Glazer happy with Woodward

Manchester United co-owner Joel Glazer is happy with the work of vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Many supporters have called for the club to appoint a director of football in recent seasons as the club has struggled to secure successful incoming deals or consistent runs of form.

Despite the recent disappointment of missing out on Champions League progression, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be given time to oversee a successful season as manager.

There has also been an update over the position of Woodward following their defeat to RB Leipzig, and how often he is in contact with the owners.

The Athletic reports not only is Woodward's job as safe as possible at United but that he is in contact with Glazer every day, adding that the finances are good.

The report predicts that Solskjaer could be at risk of the axe later on in the season, but only if the club misses out on Champions League qualification.
