Mesut Ozil reveals Rooney to be one of the greatest players in Premier League history

The German midfielder also believes Rooney is one of the best to have ever played for the England national team.

Ozil tips the former United captain to be a great manager as well.

When asked about his opinion on Wayne Rooney, Mesut Ozil tweeted: “One of the greatest players in Premier League history and English national team.

“He’s been world-class at his peak. And I think he will be a great coach as well!”

Rooney enjoyed an incredible career at Man United, with whom he won 5 Premier League titles! He scored 183 goals and provided 108 assists in 393 PL appearances and also broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s record to become the greatest goalscorer in our history with 253 overall goals.

The former United captain is currently trying his hand in management as Derby County's interim manager,as he tries to save them from getting relegated from the Championship.
