Official: Monza announce signing of free agent Mario Balotelli

Monza have announced the signing of free agent Mario Balotelli.

The former AC Milan striker has signed to the end of the season after being released by Brescia.

“Mario Balotelli comes to reinforce Monza and has signed a contract until June 30, 2021," the club wrote in a statement.

“[After a stint at Manchester City] Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani brought him back to Italy in January 2013, and he helped bring Milan to the Champions League by scoring 12 goals in Serie A.

“After a year and a half at the Rossoneri, with 26 goals in the League, he had a new prestigious experience in England with Liverpool.

In January 2016, he returned to Milan, where he was also coached by Christian Brocchi, who now finds himself at Monza together with former Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng.

“Balotelli is one of only seven footballers who from January 1, 2000, has scored at least 20 goals in three of the top five European Leagues. Welcome Mario!"
