Petr Cech to feature for Chelsea's development squad against Spurs on Monday

The Czech is technically listed as a goalkeeper in Chelsea's squad this season.

Liam Towney of The Athletic, a reliable source has exclusively revealed that Petr Cech is set to play for Chelsea's development squad in the Premier League 2 against Spurs.

Cech is currently Chelsea's technical and performance director but was also listed as a goalkeeping option for Chelsea for the league season.

The reason for the move is because Chelsea's regular keeper in the competition Lucas Bergstrom played a full game on Saturday evening and the club do not want to risk him again.

Moreover, young keeper Karlo Ziger is part of Frank Lampard's Chelsea bubble and the club do not want to risk the player leaving it.

Cech, who is also part of the bubble, therefore, is effectively Chelsea's 5th choice keeper.

This means that it's unlikely we'll ever see the legend play again for the senior side, but the club wanted the keeper to get some playing action under his belt regardless.
