'VAR is here to help football. Don't look for excuses': Casemiro hit back at Ronald Koeman

The Brazilian says that if the VAR says there's no penalty then you should trust the technology.

He attempts a clear jab at Ronald Koeman, adding that Zidane never gets involved in the refereeing which is an example for the whole team.

"The VAR is here to help football. That's what the VAR is for. If it said no penalty then there is no penalty. In football there is contact," Casemiro told Movistar referring to 2 episodes in Real Madrid's box in the 2-0 Granada win.

On the latest controversies, the Brazilian added: "Complaints about the referee? Do not look for excuses. Zidane never gets involved with the refereeing and is an example to all of us."

In the 3-1 Eibar win on Sunday, the VAR saw no deliberate handball in Sergio Ramos' actions but the rivals thought otherwise, for example, Barcelona's coach Ronald Koeman insisted it was a clear penalty.
