West Ham confirms talk with Lyon defender Marcelo

West Ham can sign Lyon defender Marcelo on a free transfer next summer.

The 33-year-old desperately wanted to join the Hammers earlier this year.

And both parties are keen to reignite negotiations, with Marcelo's contract set to expire next year.

A source close to Marcelo told The Sun: "A number of clubs are interested.

"But there was a good feeling about West Ham from the last time they spoke.

"It's a great opportunity."
