Am one of the most hated players in football: Barcelona left-back Alba

Jordi Alba has no regrets about the way he plays and this is what once made him a Barcelona player, he explains.

Alba notes that he's very humble off the pitch.

"If people know me for the way I play, I think I am one of the most hated players in football. That is clear to me, it is my way of playing and it is what has led me to be the player that I am and to be where I am," Jordi Alba has told Movistar.

"People who know me know that I am a humble person, that I know how to value everything in my life and that Jordi the player has nothing to do with Jordi the person with his teammates," the Spaniard added.

The 31-year-old has often been criticised for his below-par defensive performances. At the same time, the wing-back has already recorded 6 assists in all competitions this season.

Alba's bad reputation as a player may also be due to his earlier habit of faking injuries – neutral fans usually find such behaviour disgusting.
