AS: Aguero and Giroud among 7 Real Madrid's targets to replace Jovic

The Whites have reportedly drawn up a 7-man striker shortlist to replace Juka Jovic who will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Eintracht.

Real Madrid are targeting Man City's Sergio Aguero, Chelsea's Olivier Giroud, Espanyol's Raul de Tomas and Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik as potential replacements for Luka Jovic, according to AS.

Earlier this week, the Serbian joined his former club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season after making five appearances for Zinedine Zidane's men this term.

Thus, Zidane has been left with Karim Benzema and Mariano Diaz as his only options upfront.

Aguero and Giroud are out of respective contracts in the summer and thus could be sold on the cheap in January.

Madrid's academy graduate De Tomas, meanwhile, has been in an excellent form for Espanyol this season, scoring 12 goals in 21 Segunda appearances so far.

Milik, for his part, has fallen down the pecking order at Napoli lately and could be given the green light to leave this month.

Ajax's Lassina Traore, AZ Alkmaar's Mayron Boadu and Celtic's Odsonne Edouard are also on Madrid's radar, as per the source, not the most reliable one.

Why there's probably little truth behind this report? Any of the seven players above are unlikely to get more minutes at Madrid than Jovic unless Zidane remains in charge of the club.
