Barca boss reveals winning the Supercup would be a sign they are on the right track

Koeman says that the Supercup is important to the team, although not crucial.

The coach thinks that a trophy would boost Barca's confidence.

"Is the Supercup important to us? Of course, it is important. It is always important to win things to know that we are on the right road. We know that it is not the most important, but it is always something for any of us," Ronald Koeman said during the press conference ahead of the Athletic Bilbao clash.

"Winning shows us that we are on the right track. It will not be so decisive, but [it's good] for our confidence and to show that we have improved things. It is another game to show that we are a strong team and that we fight every game."

Koeman has the chance to win his first trophy at Barcelona as the Catalans face Bilbao in the Supercopa final on Sunday, January 17. It would be his ninth trophy he wins as a coach.
