Barcelona set to finalise Carles Alena's loan deal to Getafe today

It's said that Getafe's coach Bordalas has managed to convince Alena to accept the move.

Barcelona have officially started negotiations with Getafe over the loan of Carles Alena until the end of the season, Catalunya Radio report.

Ronald Koeman's lack of confidence in the youngster has made him consider leaving on a short deal in search of game time.

The coach didn't count on Alena even when Philippe Coutinho was sidelined; this term, Carles has only played 170 minutes across 5 matches.

Besides Getafe, the 22-year-old has also attracted interest from another La Liga team as well as some teams in Italy, ESPN's Moises Llorens reports.

COPE's reputable Helena Condis claims that Alena's loan to Getafe could be closed on Tuesday, January 5.

Koeman reportedly has told the La Masia graduate that he won't get much playing time and would like him to leave on loan.
