Chelsea boss Frank Lampard reacts to his potential sacking rumours

The manager's job is reported to be under serious threat after another defeat.

"I am not going to speak for the people above or the board," Frank Lampard said at the press conference after the Man City defeat.

"I can't answer about my contract, the run and the difficult results, I can only speak as the manager of the club.

"I just spoke to the after the game about I expected periods of difficulty," he added.

"I know it doesn't come easy. Whether that puts pressure on me it is regardless. A month ago, people were saying when was I going to get a new contract. Pressure remains constant. My job is to keep working and pick up the players."

The Blues have won just once in 6 games. The Athletic reports that Chelsea have already started considering options to replace Lampard as the manager, but there is no clear frontrunner yet.
