'I don't think Koeman failed me': Alena finally speaks after his loan move

Alena says that there were many players ahead of him in the pecking order at Barca and he chose to leave on loan because he wanted more playing time.

Getafe's coach Bordalas played a huge role in convincing him to join the club.

"I don't think Koeman failed me. There were players who were ahead of me [in the pecking order], and you have to be brave when you don't have minutes. I could stay at Barca, but I had to take a step forward, I couldn't stay without playing time," Mundo Deportivo quote Carles Alena saying.

"Getafe's coach Jose Bordalas has given me the necessary confidence and that is why I wanted to come here. If I was going somewhere, it was Getafe. It was easy, and I'm happy."

Before joining Getafe on loan, Alena had played only 170 minutes across five matches for Barcelona. The La Masia graduate then went on to start in his first game at Getafe and play full 90 minutes, putting up a great performance.
