Ike Ugbo Switch To Super Eagles

Ike Ugbo has revealed his intention of switching international allegiance from England and play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The 22-year-old was born in England and has represented the Three Lions at both the U-17 and U-20 level, scoring seven goals 20 appearances.

But, Ugbo still stand a chance of playing for Nigeria through his parents and has decided to feature in Gernot Rohr’s set up.

Speaking in an interview with Belgium newspaper, HLN, Ugbo revealed he has started the process of switching allegiance and would love to play for the three-time African champions at the 2022 World Cup.

“The paperwork is not quite in order yet, but my agent is working on it”, the striker reveals. “Playing a World Cup is every footballer’s dream, isn’t it?” Ugbo told HLN.

Ugbo is currently on loan at Cercle Brugge from Chelsea, which has proven to be a success so far.

The attacker has scored ten league goals in 16 games in the Belgian top-flight this season.
