Joan Laporta reveals Barca election might be held before March 7

Laporta believes it's possible to hold the election in late February and he was against postponing the election, saying it's against Barca's interests.

"We do not rule anything out - the election could be held one or two weeks before March 7. It is all open," Joan Laporta told Cadena COPE.

Currently, there is no official date for the presidential election. It was supposed to take place on January 24 but the epidemiological situation makes it impossible for all club members to vote.

Earlier on Tuesday, CatRadio reported that the Catalonia government have given the green light for the election to take place on March 7. The club haven't revealed the new date yet.

By the way, Laporta was strongly against postponing the election, claiming it's against Barca's interests. He insists the club should have a new board to decide on the January signings and to settle Leo Messi's future.
