Joan Laporta vows to continue with Koeman as Barca President

Xavi remains Victor Font's favourite to take over at Barca if he wins the upcoming presidential election.

Laporta, in turn, believes that the current head coach is the one to lead the club in the coming years.

"My project goes through the players and the coach who are currently in [Ronald Koeman]," Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta told El Transistor.

"I think Xavi will go with another candidate. He will coach Barcelona one day, but now we have another coach."

It's Laporta's fellow candidate Victor Font who wants to bring Xavi Hernandez, who is now at the helm of Qatari club Al Sadd, back to Camp Nou if he wins the upcoming election.

Laporta, however, remains to be the favourite to become the next Barca president after collecting 10,257 signatures to register for the presidential run.
