Koeman impressed with De Jong's attacking contribution this season

The coach says that Barca needs more players to attack the opponent's penalty box, not just the 3 forwards.

Koeman believes that De Jong adds quality to Blaugrana's attack

"Every team needs players arriving in the opponent's penalty box. We know we have three strikers but that's not enough. In order to create chances, to score goals, you need midfielders coming in the penalty box as well," Ronald Koeman said after the Elche win.

"And Frenkie de Jong is doing really well, he's adding more quality to the team when attacking. Scoring goals and providing assists is what we need and what he needs."

De Jong was a constant threat to Elche's goal during the latest La Liga encounter and he actually ended the match with a goal and an assist to his name. The Dutchman has now recorded four goals and four assists in 26 appearances for Barcelona this term so far.
