Koeman opens up on his relationship with Griezmann amidst Antoine's ongoing struggles

The 29-year-old was benched once again in the Huesca win over the weekend.

There's no rift between him and Griezmann despite his decisions, insists Koeman.

"I’ve spoken to him a lot. I really like him. He’s really open. He likes to talk, he likes to talk about the games and if we played with three midfielders we have to find the best formulas with the forwards," Ronald Koeman told the pre-Athletic Bilbao presser of Antoine Griezmann.

"We have Leo, we have Dembele who’s been getting better physically, so it’s important because he’s a player who gives us depth in attack. I can’t play every player."

Koeman benched Griezmann once again in Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Huesca over the weekend. This season so far, the 29-year-old has scored five goals in 20 appearances for the Catalans across all competitions.

Antoine will probably return to the starting XI in Wednesday's La Liga clash with Athletic.
