'We're humans, not puppets': Courtois blasts La Liga officials

The Belgian thanks the Osasuna groundkeepers for clearing the pitch but insists it wasn't safe to play or to travel to the game.

He accuses the league officials of not caring about the players' safety.

"First, we have to thank the workers here because they did a miracle with the pitch," Thibaut Courtois said after the stalemate between Real Madrid and Osasuna, as quoted by Marca.

The Belgian blasted the league officials for the way they handled the situation: "How La Liga forced us to travel and play is beyond my logical reasoning. They don't understand that we are humans and not puppets.

"We have families and the institution showed that they don't care about us or our safety," Courtois angrily concluded.

On the game itself, the goalkeeper said: "This isn't an excuse for the result, Osasuna had a great game but issues lay deeper than on pitch this time."

Spain have been hit with the heaviest snowstorm since the 70s. Madrid's squad was trapped on the plane for 3 hours on their way to face Osasuna last night. Now it's unclear when they return as the airport is closed.
