Atletico Madrid boss Simeone set to drop Joao Felix against Villarreal

Diego Simeone is expected to make changes for Atletico Madrid's trip to the Estadio de la Ceramica to play Villarreal on Sunday night.

Judging by his training sessions on Friday, El Cholo is expected to call Sime Vrsaljko and Renan Lodi into his starting 11, with Joao Felix and Saul dropping out.

The introduction of two new full-backs means Marcos Llorente and Angel Correa are likely to play further forward than they did against Chelsea in the Champions League.

With a back five of Vrsaljko, Stefan Savic, Felipe, Mario Hermoso and Lodi, Simeone is expected to revert back to three players in midfield and two up front.

Those three midfielders are likely to be Koke, Llorente and Thomas Lemar, who returns to the position that he's shone in most this season.

That leaves Correa to partner Luis Suarez in attack, with Joao Felix falling to the bench as a result. Jan Oblak will be in goal.
