Barca players rating in Alaves win with Messi 9.5, Mingueza 8

Francisco Trincao staked a claim for a more regular starting spot at Barcelona with a stellar display in the Blaugrana's 5-1 win against Alaves at the Camp Nou.Two goals from Trincao and Lionel Messi, plus a late strike from Junior Firpo, saw Ronald Koeman's side prepare for Paris Saint-Germain in style.

Leo Messi — 9.5

The Argentine was an absolute monster vs Alaves, scoring two incredible goals and taking an active part in four of Barcelona's five games of the night. What's most important, he looked fresh throughout the match.

Francisco Trincao — 8.5

The Portuguese seems to be on a roll, scoring three goals in his last two league games. However, Trincao could've gotten a hat-trick (or an assist) but he, unfortunately, missed a big chance in the second half.

Oscar Mingueza — 8

The defender did a great job both defensively and offensively, as he was the one to kick-start Barca's opener. And let's not forget that he had to play at right-back despite a nominal centre-back.

Riqui Puig — 8

Puig playing full 90 minutes is a rare sight, but the best news is that Riqui had a good game after a so-so performance last week. Although he did lose a few balls, that's because he always went for the risky passes, looking to create danger.

Ilaix Moriba —7

A roller-coaster of a debut for young Ilaix, who recorded an assist and a goal-leading mistake. Still, Moriba looked good overall and he should only get better with time. Blaugrana certainly benefited from his physicality in midfield.
