Barcelona B team coach Pimienta sends strong message to Puig in fight for first-team place

Puig has only played 481 minutes in all competitions this season and the 21-year-old has to work even harder to convince Koeman.

"Riqui Puig must win to have more minutes, in the end, it is the coach who wants to win," Barcelona B head coach Garcia Pimienta has said in an interview with Cadena SER.

"When he started he did well, with me from day to day he has pushed hard to fulfil his dream of playing in the first team. He is young, but he is made to play at Barca."

Puig has played a total of 481 minutes in all competitions this season so far.

Even though the 21-year-old's playing time has increased significantly since the turn of the year, he's yet to become a regular starter under Ronald Koeman.
