De Jong reveals 'Messi was one of the reasons he chose Barca

De Jong believes that Messi has been the best player in the world for the last 15 years.

The Dutchman says that it's 'fantastic' to play alongside Leo.

"I would like Leo Messi to stay next year with us, but it’s a topic I can't say anything about. He has to decide what he wants to do with his future," Frenkie de Jong told TV3. (h/t Diario Sport)

"He was one of the factors that made me decide to come to Barca. Not the most important one but it influenced the decision. He's been the best player in the world for 15 years. When I was 12, he already was the best. So to play by his side is fantastic."

Messi's contract at Barcelona expires next summer, and the Argentine is yet to make a decision over his future. Leo has been linked with Manchester City and PSG.
