Former Barca right-back Dani Alves finishes season trophyless for first time in 16 years
Dani Alves is set to finish the Brazilian season trophyless after Sao Paulo were held to a 1-1 draw against Palmeiras on Saturday.
The 37-year-old wasn’t able to help Sao Paulo win any silverware this season.
That draw ended the former Barcelona star’s dreams of winning the Brazilian Serie A this season with only a few games remaining in the campaign.
Sao Paulo are now eight points behind league leaders Flamengo with only 2 more games remaining this season.
The 2004/05 season was the last time when Alves did not win any silverware in a single campaign when he used to play with Sevilla.
