Jordi Alba: Messi is focused and committed to Barcelona, you can see that in every match

Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 first leg on Tuesday night and Jordi Alba expects it to be a good game, while the Catalan also expects Lionel Messi to be 100 percent focused.

Despite the Argentine being linked with a potential move to PSG, once his contract expires in the summer, Messi is still a Barcelona player right now and Jordi Alba does not think the No.10 will be at all distracted by the transfer talk.

"Even if I had my future clear in my mind, I wouldn't reveal my plans yet," Jordi Alba said in a pre-match press conference when asked about Messi and his future.

"For now, he is 100 percent committed to Barcelona.

"With him, we're better and stronger and I hope he stays here for many more years. But, it's his decision and that needs to be respected.

"Right now, he is focused on Barcelona. You can see that in every match.

"He'll decide at the end of the season. We don't pay attention to what other players or clubs are saying right now. Many people talk, but he'll have the final word and he'll have thought long and hard about his decision. He'll do what he thinks is best."

Jordi Alba went on to talk about the ins and outs of this duel with PSG.

"We feel good, but there is no favourite in this tie," he said.

"It will be a difficult match. We need to play both legs with a lot of intensity.

"Neymar's absence is big. It's better for us for players like him not to be able to play for the opposition.

"Them not having Angel di Maria is also a big blow. But, PSG still have other good players with a similar level.

"We also have important players missing."

One of the players who could make a return is Gerard Pique and the left-back spoke about how important the veteran defender is.

"He's a key piece in our team, a really important player with great experience," Jordi Alba said.

"He also brings a good atmosphere to the dressing room.

"It'll be up to the coach whether he plays or not, but we also have other important players."
