Kenneth Omeruo outshines in-form Super Eagles star Sadiq in win over Almeria

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo gave his side a huge boost in their quest for promotion when he scored the winner in Leganes 2-1 win over Almeria while compatriot Umar Sadiq grabs his 12 th league goal of the season.

Both players are super regulars for their respective teams but it was former U-23 star Sadiq that made an early impression on the game when he capitalized on mistake by a defender and fired into the net from the edge of the penalty box.

Leganes responded in the second half as Borja Baston collected a pass from Jonathan Cristian Silva and coolly finished past Fernando Martinez in goal for the visitor.Kenneth Omeruo

With the match heading for a stalemate inside the Estadio Butarque, Omeruo popped up with the winner and his first goal of the season when he reacted quickest inside the six-yard box to a freekick, Almeria failed to clear to give his side the all-important three points.

Leganes are currently placed fourth on the Spanish second division log with 46points while Almeria sit third with 49points.
