Koeman block Ilaix Moriba Spain U19 call up; wants youngster available for Elche clash

Spain U19 had called up Barcelona young midfielder Ilaix Moriba to join the squad for a three-day training camp in Marbella as they are preparing for the next summer's European Championship.

However, Ronald Koeman, through the club, requested that the youngster stays at the club as he will need him for the Elche clash.

The Spanish national team accepted the request and called up another Barcelona B talent, Nico Gonzalez, instead.

Ilaix made his La Liga debut in the previous match against Alaves; it became his second match for Barcelona after facing Cornella in the cup.

Moriba could get more playing time on Sunday vs Cadiz (February 21) or on Wednesday vs Elche (February 24).
