Leicester City Manager provide fresh Maddison injury update

Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison has been to see specialists in London this week after he aggravated an injury during the 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

But for the first time since the operation, pain returned to Maddison’s hip, causing him to miss City’s surprise elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Slavia Prague on Thursday night.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said there is no timeline on Maddison’s return as it will be a case of waiting for the pain to subside.

He made no indication that his number 10 would be fit to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

“We’ve got no timeline on it,” Rodgers said of Maddison’s injury after the loss to Slavia.

“It’s going to be one of those where he doesn’t need anything surgically, it’s just going to be about once the pain dies down.

“I can’t put a timeline on it. It’s going to be about how he feels. We’re just going to have to assess that each day.”

Kelechi Iheanacho is available for this weekend’s game against the Gunners, and could join Jamie Vardy up front.
