Mathieu reveals it was wrong for Griezmann to sign for Barca

Jeremy Mathieu explains that Antoine Griezmann was more important for Atletico Madrid than for Barca.

Besides, his level is no longer the same after he joined Blaugrana, Mathieu adds.

"Griezmann is not at the level he had at Atletico Madrid. Personally, I think he was wrong to sign for Barca. At Atletico, he was a very important piece, and I don't know if he is in Barcelona," Barca's former centre-back Jeremy Mathieu has told RAC1.

Antoine Griezmann has netted 12 goals in 34 appearances for Barca this season. The Frenchman's goal-per-game rate has dropped from 0.51 at Atletico Madrid to 0.32 at Barcelona.

Overall, the 29-year-old forward has recorded 27 goals and 14 assists in 82 games for Blaugrana.
