Mount speak on his knee injury ahead of Atletico clash: 'just a little knock'

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has played down an injury scare he suffered against Southampton ahead of a key Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

Mount won and then scored a second-half penalty to secure Chelsea a draw against Southampton after Takumi Minamino's opener on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was pictured holding some ice to his knee following the match, sparking fears he could miss the Atletico showdown with Tuesday

But Mount insisted he would be fine for the Champions League round of 16 first leg tie against Diego Simeone's side.

He told the Chelsea website: 'It's just a little knock. A bit of bruising but I'll be fine. Nothing can stop me.'

Chelsea's next three games are Atletico Madrid in Europe and Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League, and Mount discussed the side's excitement ahead of the crucial run of games.

He added: 'We spoke a bit about it before the game, saying we need to go into these next three or four weeks really focused.

'We have some massive games coming up that can really push us in the right direction so we're very excited.

'These are the games we want to play in - big Champions League games, big Premier League games against top clubs so we're very excited and we're looking forward to them.'
