Pique slams Victor Font for trying to involve him in presidential campaign

Font shared a video of Pique talking about the upcoming elections the defender asked the presidential candidate to remove it and not use his image for personal benefit.

Victor Font's platform 'Si al Futur' tweeted an extract from Gerard Pique's recent interview. That tweet read: "I hope that the club members, despite the limitations, come to vote. In order to look into the future, you need to look at the past and learn from mistakes. Nothing more. That's how you go forward."

Font added: "It's time to look to the future. The past only serves to learn from mistakes."

However, Pique didn't want to be involved in the presidential candidate's campaign, so he asked Font to take the video down.

"Victor, with all due respect, these words have nothing to do with what you are trying to convey in this tweet. Please remove it and do not use my image for your benefit. Thank you," the centre-back tweeted.

Font did remove the tweet and apologized, saying he meant no harm and shared it only because he and his team have the same views.
