Real Betis are unbeaten in eight games, winning seven of those.

Betis have averaged 1.28 goals per game this season, scoring in each of their last ten.

Bilbao have scored 11.35 goals per game and have scored in 13 consecutive matches.

Battle in Betis on Thursday night

Real Betis welcome Athletic Bilbao to Estadio Benito Villamarin on Thursday night with both sides hoping to progress to the semi-final stage of the Copa del Rey.

Real Betis have been in great form in recent weeks, winning seven of their last eight in all competitions and giving themselves a great chance of European qualification. In the Copa del Rey they have Gijon and Real Sociedad and know that a victory here will set up a semi-final tie with either Granada or Barcelona.

Athletic Bilbao has also performed well recently, with two league losses to Barcelona being the only blotches on an otherwise perfect set of results. Their cup run has seen them beat Ibiza and Alcoyano but they face a much tougher test on Thursday.

Both sides have been lethal in front of goal during their recent good runs with both averaging more than a goal a game. They’ve both been able to find the net in every game in a strong run (10 games for Betis, 13 for Bilbao). These stats bode well for an entertaining game here and we’re predicting both teams to score in this encounter.

It should be a tight contest however with neither side looking too superior over the other and this could go down to the wire with extra time and penalties a possibility. We’re forecasting just that with the game finishing 1-1 in 90 minutes.
